Ceilidh Briscoe and I will present a number of new songs and Celtic tunes at this lovely venue. While rambling around Qualicum, I’ve been fortunate enough to be drawn in by the sound of music in the afternoon on a couple of occasions. I’ve always thought it would be such a cool place to play. Spread the word.
I’ve played here several times, both as a solo performer and also with Martin Nolan the great Dublin piper. My last outing was with Ceilidh Briscoe, my regular accomplice on fiddle.
The Empourium is a lovely venue with its curved walls and intimate atmosphere. Owners John and Alice make it a very welcoming place for both performers and audience alike. Apart from serving great coffee, beer and wine, they have a nice cafe style menu served by friendly staff. They also offer local artists and craftspeople a place to display their creations. Check out their cool gift area, which often sees me picking up a greeting card or (last time) a pair of socks.
If you haven’t been there yet, come and listen to our new songs and tunes. We’re always working on something. See you there.
